We at Becontree are delighted to share uplifting news from our wider racquet sports community. A revitalised venue in south Essex — the King George V Playing Fields on Canvey — has been named County Venue of the Year at the 2025/26 Lawn Tennis Association Awards. Once derelict, the tennis courts have been transformed into a vibrant hub thanks to partnership efforts involving the LTA, Active Essex, Castle Point Borough Council, and volunteers. We’re inspired by this achievement and encouraged by the commitment to making tennis accessible across our region.
