HistoriaIMAC Hosts Inaugural Irish Martial Arts Awards, Highlighting National Excellence
The Irish Martial Arts Commission (IMAC) held its inaugural Irish Martial Arts Awards on January 24, 2026, at the Lucan Spa Hotel, recognizing outstanding contributions across Ireland’s martial arts community. Among the honourees were kickboxing veteran Robert Cassells (Outstanding Dedication Award), lifetime Taekwondo teacher Kenneth Wheatley (Lifetime Achievement Award), and BJJ practitioner Brian Murphy, awarded for diversity and inclusion. While there was no specific mention of Fairgreen, the event reflects the broader martial arts landscape in which the club operates. It underscores the growing recognition of practitioners, coaches and volunteers nationwide, setting a benchmark for excellence relevant to clubs across Ireland, including Fairgreen Martial Arts in Naas.
