HistoriaNSW grant helps Sapphire City Gymnastics double tumbling strip in Inverell
Based at the Macintyre High School hall, Sapphire City Gymnastics used the $1,900 boost to stretch its tumbling strip from about 5 metres to roughly 10 metres and add another crash mat, improving safety and training capacity for local kids [1].At the time, the club had been operating around six years, led by head coach Debbie Hankins with Jean Muggleton serving as president [1]. Sessions focused on children roughly 7–12 years old, with trampoline classes already running and plans to introduce rhythmic gymnastics coaching [1].Several of the club’s gymnasts had already tested themselves in Sydney and at state and country championships, a solid return for a small Inverell outfit [1]. The club also maintains public listings on PlaySport to help families find contact details and program information [2][3].
