HistoriaScotland’s Lacrosse Community Gears Up Amid Women’s European Momentum
The Sapphires are situated within Scotland’s active lacrosse and netball community. While recent news specific to the Sapphires remains unreported, Lacrosse Scotland continues to bolster domestic competition. In April 2025, Scotland hosted the Home Internationals, featuring contests against England and Wales at the Sport Scotland National Sports Training Centre (lacrossescotland.com). Additionally, the national women’s lacrosse team secured a bronze medal at the 2024 Women’s European Lacrosse Championship in Braga, Portugal(lacrossescotland.com). These developments highlight a strong and growing environment for the sport in which the Sapphires participate, particularly across Scotland’s clubs and regional fixtures. The netball scene also remains vibrant at national and regional levels, complementing lacrosse's resurgence.
