Cactus League Adjusts 2026 Spring Training Schedule Amid Heat Wave
The Arizona Cactus League Association is adapting to an unprecedented early‐season heat wave in Phoenix. At least 10 games across six stadiums originally scheduled for afternoon play have been moved to evening start times just after 6 p.m., while the Athletics‑Dodgers game in Glendale was rescheduled to an 11 a.m. start. Cactus League officials are also permitting fans to bring water and increasing hydration stations at ballparks to prioritize health and safety. The actions reflect the club’s commitment to athlete and spectator welfare under extreme March temperatures surpassing 100 °F. The changes come amid record heat forecasting and growing public health concerns.
