Central Coast Phillies launch 18U showcase softball team; Aug. 2 tryouts at Liberty High
The Central Coast Phillies are rolling out an 18U showcase softball team for high-school players, designed to put local talent in front of college coaches at four targeted Northern California tournaments. Tryouts are set for Saturday, Aug. 2, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Liberty High School in Paso Robles, with RSVPs and questions directed to showcasephillies@gmail.com [1].Former college pitcher Elise Foster will lead the squad, backed by a staff that includes area high-school coaches from Paso Robles down to Santa Maria. The organization expanded into youth softball last year and logged multiple top-two finishes. Open workouts continue for 9–12-year-old teams, with an info line at (805) 835-5400 [1].The Phillies have already mixed it up at the 18U level, including a matchup against NSA 18’s, underscoring the program’s growing softball footprint on the Central Coast [2].
