Former Texas AirHogs Stadium Continues to Serve Grand Prairie as Cricket Venue
Grand Prairie Stadium, originally the home of the Texas AirHogs from 2008 to 2020, continues to play a significant role in the region’s sports landscape following its conversion into a cricket venue. After the AirHogs folded in 2020 and the team ended its membership in the American Association, American Cricket Enterprises secured a long-term lease and invested in a $20 million redevelopment to transform the ballpark into a world-class facility for Major League Cricket and USA Cricket functions (en.wikipedia.org). The venue reopened in mid‑2023 and has since hosted Major League Cricket matches, served as home to the Texas Super Kings, and supported the United States national cricket team, including matches during the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup (en.wikipedia.org).
