Fort Smith Marshals 'on pause' amid ballpark delays; no summer games in Fort Smith
The Fort Smith Marshals have been placed "on pause," with no games scheduled in Fort Smith this summer as the city’s summer club halts operations. Inadequate existing facilities and a riverfront ballpark timeline projected at five-plus years triggered the decision. [1]A $150,000 riverfront stadium concept drawn up by Mammoth Sports Group never advanced to action at City Hall, leaving the franchise without a sustainable home plan for the near term. [1]The Marshals played two seasons in the Mid America League, finishing a combined 48–78 across those campaigns, and the organization parted ways with its general manager before the pause. [1]League officials continue to evaluate franchise placement and Fort Smith’s future status through their official channels. [2]
