Henrico’s Tuckahoe Sports Facility Secures Major Energy Savings with Solar Installation
Tuckahoe Sports Inc, the nonprofit indoor baseball and softball training center in Henrico County, recently achieved a significant reduction in energy costs by upgrading its facility with a 209‑kilowatt solar array. Installed at no upfront cost through Dominion Energy Solutions, the solar setup comprises 376 panels operating under a power purchase agreement that reduces electricity rates from approximately 17 cents to 9 cents per kilowatt‑hour. The facility is projected to save about $6,600 in the first year and an estimated $550,000 over the life of the agreement. Tuckahoe Sports Inc continues to focus on operational sustainability to ensure long‑term viability in serving youth baseball and softball development.
