Hornell Boys Soccer Extends Section V Dominance
The Hornell Red Raiders boys soccer team continued their regional success by securing their third consecutive Section V Class B championship in early November 2025. A 2‑1 victory over LeRoy/Cal‑Mum, featuring a late goal by Aquiles Souza assisted by Anatole Colson, secured the title and marked the team’s fourth such crown in five years (wellsvillesun.com). Meanwhile, the girls’ flag football program, though not part of traditional soccer, made notable strides, earning recognition as News 8 Primetime 585’s Spotlight Team of the Week after an undefeated start in its inaugural season (aol.com). Both developments reflect sustained athletic excellence within Hornell’s soccer-centric sports community.
