Olean Oilers join PGCBL, name Mike Threehouse first head coach of new era
Olean is on the move. The Oilers will depart the NYCBL and join the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League beginning with the 2026 summer, a step team president Matthew Fidurko framed as the right time to enter a “really strong” circuit with appealing member cities [1].The club then tapped Mike Threehouse to lead the PGCBL launch, naming the longtime local coach the first bench boss of the new era. Threehouse brings St. Bonaventure ties, extensive softball coaching experience, and player development work with Twin Tiers Academy, and he is set to manage the Oilers in 2026 [2]. A community meet‑and‑greet welcomed him to Oilers Country as preparations ramp up for next summer [3].The move caps a successful NYCBL chapter that featured back‑to‑back championships in 2015 and 2016 and a return to the title game in 2023, setting a high bar as the Oilers step into PGCBL competition [1].
