Reno Astros: 10-Time World Champions, MLB alumni, and a fresh 2026 summer slate
Since relocating to Reno in 1995 after starting as a Houston Astros scout team in 1993, the Reno Astros have anchored the city’s summer ball scene. The program’s trophy case features 10 World Championship banners, built on early dominance of the MABL Pro Open World Series, including winning the first three editions and six of the early titles. [1][2]The alumni roll runs deep as well: more than 25 former Astros have reached Major League Baseball, a group that includes Josh Beckett. The club regularly highlights player signings into the professional ranks as each summer unfolds. [1][5]Looking ahead, the Astros have posted a 2026 summer schedule, keeping the program on its familiar June–August rhythm around Reno and the region. [3]The organization has also featured in structured collegiate summer play; a Reno entry competed in the Golden State Collegiate Baseball League in 2014, with game logs and results archived publicly.
