Schaumburg Softball Team Holds Strong in MSL East Race
Schaumburg’s varsity softball squad secured a decisive 12–0 shutout against Wheeling High School in five innings on May 1, bolstering its position in the Mid‑Suburban East standings with a 13–3 overall and 6–2 conference record. The team produced a six-run third inning and followed with a four-run fourth, fueled by standout performances from Alana Nieto—who delivered doubles and a home run—and Evelyn Blahnik, whose RBI double and additional clutch hits proved pivotal. Nieto also delivered a complete‑game effort on the mound, allowing only three hits while striking out eight. The result maintains Schaumburg’s pursuit of the MSL East title. Fastball USA continues operations in the same region, offering elite baseball and softball training programs to local athletes.
