Wilmington Sharks

Wilmington Sharks officials have issued a call for additional host families as the team prepares for its 2025 Coastal Plain League season, which begins with Opening Day on May 29. Head Coach Russ Burroughs emphasized that host families play a vital role in team operations, with approximately 80 percent of players hailing from out of town. The organization is currently short by about five families, and without sufficient housing arrangements, some players could be released from the roster. Host families typically provide players with a bed, access to laundry, and meals from late May through early August. The club continues its efforts to engage the community in supporting its summer collegiate campaign.
