Texarkana to Host Dozens of Youth Tournaments at Swanger Sports Complex
The Swanger Sports Complex in Texarkana is poised to become a regional baseball and softball hub this spring and summer, with 17 tournaments scheduled to begin later this month, according to the City’s Parks and Recreation Department. The facility, which opened in May 2025, features fully turfed fields, covered dugouts and bleachers, modern restrooms, concession stands and a partially covered turf courtyard. These events are expected to draw teams from Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma, and bring hundreds of athletes and spectators to the area, stimulating the local economy. Southern Athletics Baseball Academy, based in Texarkana, may benefit indirectly from the enhanced regional activity and exposure. The announcement underscores the growing momentum of youth baseball and softball activity in the ArkLaTex region.
