White Sox Exploring ‘The 78’ Site for Potential Ballpark
Chicago White Sox Baseball Club continues to evaluate future home options, with Related Midwest’s proposed “The 78” riverfront development remaining under consideration for a new ballpark. In February 2024 the club released renderings of a proposed facility at the site, and in June 2025 a team spokesperson confirmed that the option remains on the table as part of ongoing planning discussions. The club emphasized belief in the developer’s vision and the potential for a shared riverfront location, though no final decision has been announced. The news reflects the club’s continued interest in a long-term venue solution while progress on the project remains pending.
