Youth Sports Hub Proposed on Former Toytown Landfill in Clearwater
A Clearwater-based sports facilities firm has put forward a proposal to redevelop the Toytown landfill site into a comprehensive youth sports complex featuring 20 baseball and softball fields, alongside facilities for volleyball, pickleball, and more. The envisioned project spans approximately 235 acres and carries an estimated construction cost between $150 million and $200 million, with projected revenues of $350 million in its first five years. If approved by the Pinellas County Commissioners, the development would offer expanded field access potentially benefiting local clubs such as DevX Player Development. The proposal represents a significant potential boost for youth baseball and softball infrastructure in the region.
