PričaFamily ties keep Caversham Harriers moving across generations
Claire Giles joined Caversham Harrier & Athletic Club in 1965 after Greater Green Island Athletics closed; Malcolm Giles and their daughter Paula Cotter came aboard in 1987, and later Paula’s children, Patrick and Sammy, signed on when they were old enough. [1]Claire still competes year‑round, while Malcolm lends a hand as a coach and official and keeps up as a social harrier, including coaching grandson Patrick. [1]Paula and her children favour the throws—shot put and discus—while also taking part in the club’s harrier runs. [1]That pathway reflects Caversham’s family‑friendly setup and broad programme across cross-country, track and field and road running, with room for juniors through to masters. [2]
