From Hillcats to Howlers, Lynchburg opens 2026 on April 2; home opener set for April 7
The franchise has taken the field in 2026 as the Hill City Howlers, continuing Lynchburg’s Single-A Carolina League tradition at Bank of the James Stadium (City Stadium). The fresh look arrives on the heels of a 2025 league title that set the tone for this new era [4][5].The 2026 slate began on April 2, and the schedule shows a 4–3 result over Kannapolis that day as the club settled in out of the gate [2]. The group taking the field is tracked throughout the campaign on Baseball America’s team page, with roster notes and prospect updates anchoring the season overview [1].The first chance for the home faithful comes April 7, when Fredericksburg visits for the Howlers’ home opener. Tickets and promotions for the date are available through the club’s Ticketmaster listings [5][3].
