Honkers drop game one to Loggers; Thompson and Santiago homer in Rochester
La Crosse claimed game one of a doubleheader at Mayo Field on July 23, with Rochester’s Cooper Annin tagged with the loss as the Honkers couldn’t claw back in the opener [1].Rochester’s offense flashed power: Seth Thompson and Angel Santiago each launched solo home runs, and Jacob Neutz added a two‑run homer in the eighth to keep it interesting late [1]. Out of the bullpen, Aaron Ploszay logged five innings of relief to stabilize the middle frames for the Honkers [1].Big‑picture context around the club continues to loom over the summer: the organization has announced it will not play during the 2027 season and will cease playing at Mayo Field after the 2026 campaign [2].
