How the Colts clinched their first state soccer crown in 2017
Parkway Central’s breakthrough came in the Class 3 final, a 1–0 victory over Washington decided when senior Matt Deay turned in a corner from junior Adam Burnett in the 54th minute, the goal that secured the program’s first state title under coach Brian Adam [1].The path was built on resilience: the Colts shook off an 0–3 start before grinding through the bracket, edging Fort Zumwalt South 2–1 after two overtimes in the quarterfinals and blanking Republic 3–0 in the semifinals to reach the championship match [1].Season highlight reels from that campaign remain a touchstone for the Parkway Central faithful, capturing the pace and set‑piece sharpness that defined the run [2][3].
