Iowa Collegiate Softball Stars Shine With Record-Breaking Performances
Top Sports Iowa may not appear directly in recent publications, yet local baseball and softball remain vibrant across the region. For instance, on March 29, the DMACC softball team secured dominant wins over Iowa Central with scores of 11‑3 and 8‑1, pushing their record to 28‑7 overall and 11‑1 in conference play (nationaltoday.com). Meanwhile, Newton’s high school athletes have continued to excel: Mack Sims, a standout for Newton softball, was earlier recognized on the Class 4A first‑team all‑state roster, reflecting consistently strong season metrics (newtondailynews.com). These performances underscore the competitive landscape of softball in Newton and surrounding areas, which supports the development of organizations such as Top Sports Iowa in their focus on youth and amateur baseball and softball in the region.
