Looking Back: Petersburg Generals’ Collegiate Legacy Lives On
We may not have fresh headlines, but we’re swinging back into the memories that keep Petersburg Generals fans fired up! Though our team has been inactive since folding in 2017, the legacy of triumph at the Petersburg Sports Complex endures. Did you know our Generals clinched the Coastal Plain League title way back in 2000 and twice held division crowns in 2000 and 2003? (en.wikipedia.org) The ballpark itself remains a hub for baseball and softball activity, with four softball fields and a baseball diamond that once echoed with our cheers. (en.wikipedia.org) We remain Ville proud—heroes on the mound may come and go, but Generals fans never fade. Stay ready, because the spirit never retires!
