Lynchburg Hillcats Rebrand to Hill City Howlers as Stadium Renovations Underway
The Lynchburg Hillcats, Single-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians, have officially rebranded as the Hill City Howlers ahead of the 2026 season, ending a 30-year run under the Hillcats name (mlb.com). The new identity, inspired by local lore and Lynchburg’s nickname “Hill City,” features a suite of monster-themed mascots led by Indy the Werewolf (mlb.com). Concurrently, the team and the city of Lynchburg have launched extensive renovations at their historic City Stadium, including a new scoreboard with ribbon board, upgraded sound system, remodeled third-base deck, and a double-decker bar, with further enhancements such as an Autova SkyDeck and picnic area slated post‑2026 season (milb.com).
