Magnolia Express sets year-round select path under MBA, fields 7U–14U teams
Magnolia Express Baseball, the competitive/select arm of the Magnolia Baseball Association, runs year‑round under a four‑member subcommittee with an emphasis on fundamentals, team cohesion, communication, and the mental side of the game. Coaches and team staff are volunteers, and family costs are focused on uniforms and monthly tournament dues aimed to stay lower than many select outfits [2].The Express fields teams from 7U through 14U, with rosters typically around 12 players. Squads target tournament play roughly every other weekend, with the program outlining a slate that includes about 16 Perfect Game events across the year [2][3].Tryouts are held ahead of each Spring and Fall season at the MBA fields. Sessions are free and open, with sign‑ups managed through SportsEngine, and the program makes private or open practices available by arrangement. Committee contact is listed as Allen Plagens at (979) 255‑8454 for select inquiries [2][3].Magnolia Express maintains a presence on Perfect Game — including organization and team pages for 12U and 13U — and notes it is now in its third season. The 13U side also appears in Five Tool youth listings, where a recent snapshot shows a 1‑1‑0 mark with a 2.5 runs‑scored average. The program engages families via its Facebook page for updates and announcements [1][4][5][6][7][8].
