Olathe West High School Baseball Heads to State Championship
Olathe West baseball has secured a spot in the Kansas state championship games after overcoming significant challenges this season. The team endured past adversity, including a 2019 on‑field cardiac arrest experienced by pitcher Brennan Connell and the 2020 loss of an assistant coach to COVID‑19, yet rallied under strong community support. A sendoff organized by the booster club took place at Olathe West High School, highlighting the community’s resolve. The program’s progression underscores resilience in youth baseball within the Olathe region and offers an encouraging context for the KC Barnstormers, a local baseball development organization in Olathe focused on cultivating youth talent.
