Sally Little League sets March 15 Opening Day after upgrades at Shirley Winston Park
Sally Little League will start on time after significant field work at Shirley Winston Park (5025 Steam Mill Rd), including leveling and filling the infields, new tarps, and other fixes backed by community donations, with help also coming from the Atlanta Braves [1]. “We’re way ahead of where we were last year,” league president Chris Smith said of the progress [1].Opening Day is set for March 15, putting local kids back on their home fields without the postponements that marked the previous spring [1]. The complex features multiple diamonds—Sally 1 and Sally 2 for baseball and Field 4 for softball—with real-time field-status updates maintained online for families and coaches [2]. The league’s organization listing also confirms the Columbus location and setup for baseball and softball programs [3].
