Tuckahoe Sports Inc Training Center Goes Solar, Cuts Energy Costs
Tuckahoe Sports Inc’s Tuckahoe Sports Training Center has recently adopted a 209‑kilowatt solar array through Dominion Energy Solutions, implementing 376 rooftop panels under a no-cost installation agreement. The project has reduced energy costs by approximately 40 percent, lowering electricity rates from about 17 cents per kilowatt-hour to around 9 cents. The facility expects to save roughly $6,600 in the first year and up to $550,000 over the life of the agreement. Executive Director Lesa Williams emphasized that such long‑term savings play an important role in the sustainability of the organization’s baseball and softball programming in Henrico County.
