UIS Welcomes Former Peoria Chiefs Coach Jason Simontacchi as Guest Speaker
Hello, Chiefs fans! We’re thrilled to share that Jason Simontacchi—who began his coaching journey with the Peoria Chiefs in 2013—will be the guest speaker at the 2026 UIS First Pitch Event held on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Simontacchi, a former MLB pitcher with the St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Nationals, now brings his experience to inspire the next generation of baseball and softball talent at the University of Illinois Springfield. We’re proud to see one of our own continue to shape the game and represent the spirit of Chiefs baseball. Join us in celebrating this connection that keeps Peoria’s baseball legacy alive!
