HistóriaMarianne Murray’s Legacy Highlighted at Cumbernauld Netball Club
Marianne Murray’s contributions to Cumbernauld Netball Club were spotlighted by Netball Scotland on International Women’s Day. Murray, who progressed through school and club levels, played a pivotal role in leading Cumbernauld Netball Club to victory in the Glasgow Netball Association’s inaugural Division 2 league during the club’s debut season. She later established a Bounce Back to Netball group that initially attracted 45 participants and remains active. The club also benefits from coaching efforts by Louise McLaughlin, who returned to the sport and now coaches the U11s, while emerging player Thea McLaughlin gained competitive experience in both Glasgow and Lanarkshire associations. The report underscores the club’s commitment to youth development and coaching pathways.
