HistóriaMasafi Al‑Janoob Basra set for 2024/25 in Iraq’s second tier with experienced spine
Masafi Al‑Janoob SC, rooted in Al‑Shaibah on the outskirts of Basra, are competing in Iraq’s second tier for the 2024/25 season [1][3].The squad skews seasoned — average age about 27.5 — and tall, with an average height near 1.84 m. Foreign talents Doudou Abdoulaye Karim and Siahoune Abdoul Aziz headline the group and add edge in key areas [1].Across the calendar, league fixtures and scorelines are stacking up as Masafi Al‑Janoob negotiate the grind of Division One week to week [2]. The club’s name appears in multiple transliterations — Masafi Al‑Janoob and Masafi Al‑Junoob — but it’s the same Basra outfit pushing for momentum [3][4].
