Baltimore Lawyers’ Softball League Prepares for 2026 Season
Baltimore’s legal community is set to return to the diamond as the long-running Baltimore Lawyers Softball League prepares to launch its 2026 season. The league, comprising 16 teams drawn from law firms, legal organizations, and law schools across the region, begins play on May 18. Games typically run Monday through Thursday evenings, culminating in playoffs for the top eight teams in early August. Last season’s champion, Nelson Mullins, displayed the league trophy prominently in their office following their victory. The league emphasizes social interaction and camaraderie among participants, while adopting safety-conscious rule changes including double first base and collision-avoiding home plate protocols. BVBL continues to exemplify how regional baseball and softball activity fosters community, as lawyers put aside briefs for bats this summer.
