Baseball and Softball Field Lighting Concerns Impact Phoenix Youth Leagues
Persistent lighting issues continue to affect youth baseball and softball leagues in the Phoenix area, raising concerns relevant to organizations such as Manzanita Ball Club. In nearby Ahwatukee, the Pony League has been forced to cancel multiple games and practices due to field lighting failures, disrupting the regular schedule and development opportunities for players (azfamily.com). League officials expressed frustration over repeated delays in resolving the issue and noted that even field access for programs involving disabled athletes has been severely affected (azfamily.com). The situation has prompted local discussion about infrastructure support and the reliability of facilities serving youth sports teams.
