Cactus League Adjusts Game Times Amid Unseasonable March Heat
The Arizona Cactus League Association’s spring training operations have adapted to an unexpected March heat wave in Phoenix. The club confirmed that at least 10 Cactus League games scheduled for afternoon start times between Wednesday, March 18 and Friday, March 20 have been shifted to early evening, around 6 p.m. local time, to protect players and attendees from forecasted triple‑digit temperatures reaching up to 106°F. One game in Glendale between the Athletics and Dodgers has been moved to an 11 a.m. start. The club has also implemented additional hydration measures, including allowing fans to bring water and installing hydration stations at participating ballparks. The Arizona Cactus League Association continues to prioritize safety while maintaining spring training operations.
