Chesapeake Post 280 Claims 2025 American Legion World Series Crown
Chesapeake Baseball’s Post 280 secured the 2025 American Legion World Series championship with a decisive 5‑0 victory over League City, Texas Post 554. A standout performance came from right‑hander Charlie Hogan, who started the title game and delivered 6 1/3 innings of shutout baseball, allowing only four hits while striking out five. Hogan was relieved after 104 pitches, with Ty Woods closing out the win. Chesapeake (Va.) Post 280 became the first Virginia team since 1985 to win the ALWS and completed a 27‑4 season with the title. Coach Larry Bowles praised the team’s cohesion in a rare championship run for the state.
