High School State Softball Championships Extended Through Madison Area
The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) and University of Wisconsin–Madison have finalized an eight-year extension to their agreement, ensuring that high school state championships—including softball—continue to be hosted at UW–Madison facilities through spring 2033. The arrangement underscores Madison’s role as a central hub for scholastic softball events and delivers a significant economic boost to the region, with recent tournaments in 2023–24 drawing over 196,000 in paid attendance and generating an estimated $22.2 million in local economic impact. ProMotion Baseball, operating within the broader Madison baseball and softball community, benefits from the enhanced profile and continuity of elite-level softball showcasing in the region. The sustained investment in facilities and event hosting supports ongoing opportunities for local player development and community engagement.
