Keeter Stadium Celebrates 50 Years as Home for Shelby Post 82 Baseball
Shelby Post 82 Baseball marked a historical milestone this spring as its longtime venue, Veterans Field at Keeter Stadium in Shelby, North Carolina, celebrated its 50th anniversary. The stadium first hosted the team on March 17, 1976, and has since served as the primary home for Shelby Post 82 and Shelby High School baseball, eventually becoming the site of the American Legion World Series (legion.org). The celebration underscores the stadium’s central role in cultivating a legacy of local and national amateur baseball in Shelby, reinforcing the club’s deep-rooted presence in the community’s sports tradition (legion.org).
