Local Youth Baseball Faces Relief with Planned Lowell Sports Complex
Lowell-area baseball and softball participants stand to benefit from a new regional development that may ease facility shortages at the ACA Training Center. A planned sports complex on Foreman Street SE in Lowell will feature seven baseball and softball fields, a concession pavilion, restrooms, office space, and parking for 350 vehicles. The Lowell Youth Sports Foundation leads the project and aims to break ground in fall 2024, with the complex expected to be operational in 2026 or shortly thereafter. Current league demand, with approximately 400 local players across more than 40 teams, has outpaced available fields, making this development a timely expansion of local training and competition infrastructure. The proximity of these new facilities may complement ACA Training Center’s year-round indoor offerings. This will help serve both youth and travel baseball and softball programs in the region.
