Pilots edge Generals on June 9 (10–5), July 25 walk-off and Aug. 4 DH opener
Peninsula kept Petersburg under pressure through a string of 2016 meetings, starting with a 10–5 decision on June 9 [2].The Pilots then walked it off on July 25, a finish that also marked head coach Hank Morgan becoming the winningest manager in Coastal Plain League history [1][4]. The rough patch carried into August, with Peninsula claiming Game 1 of an Aug. 4 doubleheader [3].
