Pirates Charities and City Launch Field Upgrades Affecting Local Youth Baseball
The 14th Ward Youth Baseball Association may benefit from a recent citywide investment in youth sports infrastructure. Pirates Charities and the City of Pittsburgh have partnered, alongside the Pennsylvania Laborers District Council, to allocate $15,000 each toward improvements at 20 youth baseball and softball fields citywide. The initiative is part of the established Fields for Kids program and focuses on enhancing playing surfaces, drainage systems, and accessibility while providing ongoing maintenance training to parks staff. This effort could support local organizations such as the 14th Ward Youth Baseball Association by improving the quality and usability of their playing facilities.
