Powhatan Youth Baseball and Softball Activity Highlights
South of The James Ball Club serves youth baseball and softball players in Powhatan County and surrounding areas, having been established in 2021 and affiliated with Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth Baseball, Babe Ruth Softball, and Dixie Baseball organizations (clubs.bluesombrero.com). The club operates under a 501(c)(3) structure and continues providing developmental opportunities for athletes aged 4 to 18 (clubs.bluesombrero.com). In parallel, Powhatan Little League recently hosted spring baseball events including tee-ball clinics and player assessments as part of its 2026 spring program, reflecting broader youth baseball engagement in the region (pllbaseball.com). Additionally, Powhatan County maintains multiple baseball and softball facilities such as Ace’s Diamond Field and AA Field, supporting local youth programs including South of The James Ball Club (powhatanva.gov).
