Salt Lake City Youth Baseball Sees Growing Costs Impact Community Leagues
Crown Colony Baseball, a recognized nonprofit youth baseball and softball organization in Salt Lake County, operates under a charitable 501(c)(3) structure with assets totaling over $511,000 as of 2023, according to recent IRS filings (projects.propublica.org). In the broader context of Salt Lake City’s youth baseball scene, several longstanding leagues—including Rose Park Baseball, Avenues Baseball, Central City Baseball, and Foothill Youth Baseball—are contending with rising field rental fees imposed by the city. Cost increases from $8 to $17 per hour threaten the affordability of organized baseball for local families (fox13now.com).
