SDA launches Soccer Domain FC; Montclair United cuts ties over ad confusion in 2011
Sports Domain Academy established Soccer Domain Football Club in Montclair as the elite track built from its training programs, expanding its footprint in town’s youth game [1][3]. By fall 2011, Montclair United publicly ended its vendor relationship with SDA, pointing to family confusion from SDFC-branded advertising and requesting that SDA/SDFC cease any messaging that implied an affiliation [2].The split drew a clear line between Montclair United’s community club model and SDA/SDFC’s private training-and-club pathway [2]. SDA’s Montclair pages continue to present camps, clinics, and teams locally, with SDFC positioned as the top competitive pathway within that structure [1][3].
