Summer Collegiate Baseball Returns to Galveston with Bailey’s New Franchise
Baseball with Bailey is highlighted by a notable development in summer collegiate baseball, as Houston resident Rick Bailey acquired the Cowboy Collegiate League’s first Texas franchise for Galveston. The move restores summer baseball to the island, a historically significant region for the sport, after many years without a team. The new franchise stems from Bailey’s involvement as owner of the Pineville Porcupines and his backing of the Players League’s expansion goals (kgtx7news.com).
