‘This is a GAME’: Glendale Little League sign draws national attention
At the Glendale Little League complex, a posted reminder about keeping youth sports in perspective struck a chord nationwide: “These are KIDS. This is a GAME. Coaches are VOLUNTEERS. Umpires are HUMAN. Your child is NOT being scouted by the Brewers today.” [1][2]The sign, in place at the fields for several years, surged across social media after being widely shared by national accounts. [1][2][3]League president John Diedrich said the message aims to dial down sideline intensity so kids can enjoy the game and learn the right way. [1]The response brought a wave of attention and support, reinforcing a simple point that carries through busy weekends at the Glendale diamonds: let the kids play. [1][2]
