Union City sets 2026 Soccer Festival for June 13 at Midtown Athletic Complex
Union City will stage the 2026 Soccer Festival on Saturday, June 13, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Midtown Athletic Complex/José Martí STEM Academy, 1800 Summit Ave., with the Mayor and Board of Commissioners partnering with Cedar Stars Academy and the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to put on a full day of fútbol and family fun [1][3].The program features an opening ceremony, all‑day matches highlighted by Union City Soccer Club vs. Cedar Stars Academy, a live DJ, kids’ activities and rides, food vendors, and free parking at the 23rd Street Municipal Deck [1]. The date is set on the city calendar and echoed by district communications, locking in an early‑summer centerpiece for the local soccer community [1][3].Ahead of the festival, the city’s youth travel program is running open tryouts for the 2025 season at José Martí Field (1800 Summit Ave.) in June and July 2025, with teams competing in regional circuits including the Northern Counties Soccer Association and EDP [2]. It’s a clear runway for local talent to earn spots and test themselves beyond Hudson County [2].
