Wausau Ignite Set for Second Season in Collegiate Softball League
Wings West Baseball Club remains mentioned amid increasing momentum for summer collegiate softball in the Upper Midwest. The Wausau Ignite, part of Northwoods League Softball, will begin its second season in 2026 after debuting in 2025. The Ignite played at Athletic Park in Wausau, Wisconsin, sharing the venue with the Wausau Woodchucks and using modified field configurations for softball play. Their inaugural 2025 season ended with a 12–30 record, placing last among the five teams and falling short of playoff qualification. The development signals continued expansion of competitive platforms in Baseball & Softball, in which Wings West Baseball Club participates locally in Bertram, contributing to a growing national youth sports ecosystem.
