StoryAS Police Niamey lean on 2008 double and 2021 Cup in capital’s Super Ligue push
AS Police have been a Niamey fixture since 1993, representing the country’s national police and playing home dates at the 35,000-capacity Stade Général Seyni Kountché [1][2].Honours underpin the badge: the club clinched the Niger Premier Division title in 2008 and lifted the Niger Cup in both 2008 and 2021. Continental nights followed, including a 2009 CAF Champions League preliminary round appearance and later CAF competition involvement around 2021/22 [1][2].On the league beat, recent Super Ligue fixtures have paired Police with familiar uniformed foes: a 1–1 against AS Garde Nationale and a spring date with US Gendarmerie on 10 Apr 2026, staples of the capital’s service showdowns [3][4].The squad and club profile are tracked in detail on Transfermarkt, reflecting the current group tasked with keeping Police competitive in Niamey’s top flight [5].
