StoryGhost Ryders set May 28 Delburne Skatepark Invitational for Grades 7–12
The Ghost Ryders have circled Thursday, May 28 for their next invitational at Delburne Skatepark, targeting students in grades 7–12 across Alberta, with updates and registration details available through the group’s Instagram and Facebook channels [1][2].The park on 18th Street, just east of the arena, stands as a community project driven by local youth, who helped raise roughly $350,000 to get it built—now a regular stage for school-backed comps in town [3].The invitational continues a well-worn line the crew has carved over the years. A 2017 edition ran at the park, part of a series that has become a fixture for the region’s young riders [5]. In 2018, Delburne Centralized School’s Ghost Ryders hosted the third annual skatepark competition with support from sponsors including Industry Skate & Snow, ATCO, Servus Credit Union and other local businesses [3]. After a pandemic pause, the comp returned in 2022 with skateboard, scooter and BMX categories, and was staged as a school-day event to bring in students from a wide catchment [4].Prospective riders and volunteers can follow @delburne_ghost_ryders for schedule notes and entry info as the May 28 date approaches [1][2].
