StoryTV Oberwangen’s Historic Trophäen-Speicher Destroyed by Fire
TV Oberwangen suffered a significant loss when its historic trophy storage (‘Speicher’) was destroyed by fire during the night of August 2, 2024. The blaze, reportedly caused by fireworks, left the Speicher—a heritage building dating back to circa 1500—in ruins and destroyed a substantial portion of the club’s memorabilia, including trophies, record books, flags and magazines. The club has confirmed that while no persons were harmed, the structure and its contents are lost, and plans for a replacement face challenges due to heritage protection and insurance considerations.
